Description of IRIS Airtight Pet Food Storage Container

IRIS USA is a leader among pet food storage products. While not particulary fashionable, they are extremely reliable and sturdy and come in a variety of sizes, so you should have no problem finding one that fits your space. Since they come with optional wheels, these units are great for storing in the pantry and then pulling out when dinner time rolls around.

Note that how much dog food you can store is dependent upon your kibble - larger kibble size take up more room....

11-12 Quart: 13.0 x 7.1 x 13.8 inches - approximately 7 pounds of dog food

21-23 Quart: 13.7 x 8.9 x 17.5 inches - approximately 15 pounds of dog food

30-33 Quart: 10.8 x 16.5 x 16.5 inches - approximately 25 pounds of dog food

45-47 Quart: 10.7 x 18 x 23.8 inches - approximately 37 pounds of dog food

60-69 Quart: 17.9 x 23.8 x 14.7 inches - approximately 50 pounds of dog food

The easiest way to figure this out for your dog food is to figure out how many cups of dog food equal 1 pound (since dog food is sold in lbs)

Then multiply the number of cups per pound with the number of pounds of dog food and you will get  the number of cups of dog food for that particular package of dog food. Now divide this number by 4, and you will have the number of quarts in your package of dog food. (We didn't say this would be easy, but is sure is better than buying the wrong size - and remember - if you change dog foods, this number will change too.)

So, for instance, my current dog food, Exceed, is 5 cups equals 1 pound of dog food. The bag contains 44 pounds, so 5 * 44 = 220 cups of dog food. Now divide this by 4 (4 cups in 1 quart) and you get 55 quarts of dog food. So I would buy the 60-69 quart size.
